The ACE Project

Ascension Clean Energy (ACE) is a world-scale clean ammonia project developed by Clean Hydrogen Works (CHW) in collaboration with strategic shareholders ExxonMobil, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and Hafnia.

Located in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, ACE aims to be the most cost competitive, low-carbon intensity clean ammonia producer globally. The first phase is expected to deliver 2.4 MTPA by 2029, with additional phases up to 7.2 MTPA.

Unique Site forThe ACE Project

After evaluating many site options, Clean Hydrogen Works selected and secured the 1,700-acre RiverPlex MegaPark site on the west side of the Mississippi River in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. The site has many advantages for the facility, which will produce up to 7.2 million tons of clean ammonia annually when fully built.

The ACE project facility will have access points to CO2 pipelines for the transfer and transportation of captured CO2, Mississippi River access for product shipment and a source of water feedstock, and deepwater docks to support large product tankers. The local area has the workforce to support both construction and production at the facility.
